The decision starts with understanding what is holding the website back. A difficult course search, slow content updates or inconsistent information across campuses may be solvable without replacing the entire platform. An unsupported CMS, restrictive architecture or substantial change in organisational needs may point towards a rebuild.

When improvement may be enough

If the platform remains supported, we can assess whether changes to information architecture, page templates, accessibility, content workflows or integrations will address the problems users and staff experience. This can preserve useful parts of the existing investment and allow improvements to be delivered progressively.

When a rebuild makes more sense

A rebuild may be the better choice when the platform cannot support the required experience, content model or connections to other systems. It may also be necessary when years of workarounds have made routine changes costly or risky.

Making the decision

Zeroseven considers the condition of the platform alongside user needs, editorial processes, technical constraints and future plans. The aim is to recommend the level of change the organisation actually needs, rather than assume every problem requires a new website.
